When you want to make improvements to your home, there are steps that you must go through prior to starting most home improvement projects, whether it is new creation or a repair of an existing part of your property. This is part of our deed restrictions.
Please be aware that contractors may only have job-site access from 7am to 7pm daily and may not work on Sundays or the following holidays: 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
Before you begin your home improvement project, please fill out completely the “Property Improvement and Repair Application” and include any drawings, specifications, etc., then submit all for approval in accordance with the instructions on the form. NOTE: You can complete the application on-line but will need to print it to obtain required signatures.
The Architectural Control Committee (ACC) will review your project for approval and may even visit with you regarding your plans. You must receive written approval from IMC (our property management company) before beginning any work.
External projects that need ACC approval include projects such as: tree removal, painting, gutter replacement, driveway repair and/or replacement, mailbox repair or replacement, roof repair and/or replacement, deck and dock repairs and painting, and bulkhead repairs, installation of fences, air conditioners, generators, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, patio covers, new pool or pool re-plastering; new trees especially on waterfront lots, cutting tiles, flooring, counter tops, etc. outdoors, and similar type home improvement projects.
Please feel free to contact Amanda Mason by email (click on her name) or call her at 936.756.0032 if you have any questions regarding these forms. We’d rather have you ask a question before the project starts if you are unsure about anything!
